Τα ηνία του ΠΑΣΟΚ αναλαμβάνει σήμερα ο Ευάγγελος Βενιζέλος μετά τη χθεσινή εκλογή του στην προεδρία του Κινήματος.
Αυτήν την ώρα ο κ. Βενιζέλος γίνεται δεκτός από τον Πρόεδρο της Δημοκρατίας, Κάρολο Παπούλια, ένω στις 13.00 θα συναντηθεί με τον πρωθυπουργό Λουκά Παπαδήμο προκειμένου να ρυθμιστούν τα ζητήματα που σχετίζονται με την παραίτησή του από το κυβερνητικό σχήμα. Στις 15.00 θα έχει συνάντηση με τον Γιώργο Παπανδρέου, ο οποίος θα του παραδώσει τη σκυτάλη.
Μετά την ολοκλήρωση της εσωκομματικής διαδικασίας ο κ. Βενιζέλος τόνισε, μεταξύ άλλων, ότι αναλαμβάνει την ευθύνη να ηγηθεί της προσπάθειας για την αναγέννηση της παράταξης, αλλά και για τη διαμόρφωση του εθνικού σχεδίου ανασυγκρότησης της χώρας.
«Αναλαμβάνω την ευθύνη να ηγηθώ μιας συλλογικής προσπάθειας που δεν αφήνει απ΄έξω κανέναν», υπογράμμισε, στέλνοντας μήνυμα συσπείρωσης και ενότητας.
Η Ιπποκράτους εμφανίστηκε χθες ικανοποιημένη για τη συμμετοχή στην εκλογική διαδικασία. Σύμφωνα με εκτιμήσεις της Επιτροπής Καταστατικού και Πιστοποίησης (ΕΚΑΠ) του ΠΑΣΟΚ, η συμμετοχή αναμένεται να αγγίξει τις 240.000.
Τα τελευταία στοιχεία που έδωσε ο πρόεδρος της ΕΚΑΠ, Γιώργος, Ανωμερίτης, αναφέρουν ότι στο 75,91% των εκλογικών κέντρων που καταμετρήθηκαν, ψήφισαν 180.714, εκ των οποίων οι 175.887 ψήφισαν τον Ευάγγελο Βενιζέλο (ποσοστό 97,33%). Ακόμη καταμετρήθηκαν 3.653 λευκά και 1.174 άκυρα.
Πεπεισμένος ότι η Ελλάδα έχει διανύσει περισσότερη από τη μισή διαδρομή για την οικονομική ανάκαμψη, αν και, όπως αναφέρει, η διαδικασία της δημοσιονομικής εξυγίανσης θα διαρκέσει περισσότερο, δηλώνει ο πρωθυπουργός Λουκάς Παπαδήμος σε συνέντευξή του στους Financial Times.
«Θα επιτευχθούν θετικοί ρυθμοί ανάπτυξης μέσα σε λιγότερα από δύο χρόνια», επισημαίνει.
Μεταξύ άλλων εκτιμά ότι μια «μεγάλη, σιωπηλή πλειοψηφία» Ελλήνων είναι πρόθυμη να κάνει ό,τι χρειάζεται προκειμένου η χώρα να παραμείνει στην ευρωζώνη, παρά τις σχεδόν καθημερινές διαδηλώσεις κατά των μέτρων λιτότητας.
Σημειώνει ακόμη ότι η Ελλάδα είναι αποφασισμένη να αποφύγει μια ακόμη αναδιάρθρωση του χρέους, ενώ οι πολιτικοί αρχηγοί είναι διατεθειμένοι να βάλουν στην άκρη τις διαφορές για την εφαρμογή διαρθρωτικών και φορολογικών μεταρρυθμίσεων.
«Θα κάνουμε ό,τι είναι απαραίτητο προκειμένου να διασφαλιστεί ότι αυτή ήταν η τελευταία αναδιάρθρωση του ελληνικού χρέους», αναφέρει χαρακτηριστικά ο Πρωθυπουργός.
Εν όψει μάλιστα των εκλογών εκφράζει την πεποίθησή του ότι οι μεταρρυθμίσεις θα συνεχίσουν όποια κυβέρνηση κι αν εκλεγεί. «Αυτή είναι η βούληση της πλειοψηφίας των Ελλήνων πολιτών», αναφέρει και προσθέτει ότι θα πρέπει να ληφθεί υπόψη από τα πολιτικά κόμματα.
Ο κ. Παπαδήμος παραδέχεται πάντως πως η χώρα ίσως χρειαστεί επιπρόσθετη διεθνή βοήθεια αν δεν καταφέρει να επιστρέψει στις αγορές μέχρι το 2015.
Αξίζει να σημειωθεί ότι στη συνέντευξή του ο Λουκάς Παπαδήμος δεν αποκλείει το ενδεχόμενο να παραμείνει πρωθυπουργός και μετά τις εκλογές, αν δεν υπάρξει επαρκής στήριξη στο πρόσωπο κάποιου άλλου υποψηφίου.

Greece has greatly improved how it monitors its budget and has tested the limits of its citizens with its spending cuts, the head of the European Commission’s special task force said.
“For months the specter of bankruptcy hovered. No one knew if the private investor debt write-down would work. People were skeptical about whether the government would make savings. All this is over. The foundations for progress are in place,» Horst Reichenbach told Germany’s Handelsblatt newspaper in an interview published on Monday.

Venizelos gets more than 97 pct of vote to become new PASOK chief
Finance Minister Evangelos Venizelos was expected to meet with Greece’s premier on Monday to tender his resignation from the post following his election as PASOK chief on Sunday.
More than 230,000 Socialist party supporters flocked to polling stations — set up in city halls, cafes, even gas stations — across the country on Sunday to cast a vote for Venizelos, 55, who ran unopposed in the leadership race after other contenders failed to qualify for the race.

PM: Greece over halfway to recovery
Greece’s caretaker prime minister insists that a “large, silent majority” of Greeks are willing to do whatever is needed to stay in the eurozone, despite near-daily anti-austerity demonstrations.
Lucas Papademos said Greece was determined to avoid another debt restructuring and its political leaders were prepared to put aside differences to implement structural and fiscal reforms.

Greek Exports to Decline, EU’s Reichenbach Tells Handelsblatt
Greece’s exports will probably decline this year compared to 2011, Horst Reichenbach, the European Union official in charge of aiding the country’s administrative overhaul, was quoted as saying by Handelsblatt.
Reichenbach said Greek exports reveresed their positive trend in November and probably won’t be as dynamic in 2012 as last year, according to an interview with Reichenbach in the Dusseldorf, Germany-based newspaper today.

German bunds rose, snapping a four- day decline, as International Monetary Fund Managing Director Christine Lagarde urged policy makers to be vigilant of threats to global economic stability.
Ten-year yields fell from the highest level this year as credit-default swaps dealers prepared to hold an auction today to settle Greek bond insurance claims. Greek Deal Highlights Flaws in Default Swaps
A group of financial-market players on Monday will determine that holders of $3.2 billion in Greek credit-default swaps will receive around $2.5 billion in compensation for Greece’s debt restructuring—a payout that mirrors the loss that creditors suffered.
But the happy outcome owes much to mere chance. It masks flaws in the contracts, say some market participants and legal experts, that have rattled investors and are leading to calls to revamp how the swaps are handled for defaulting sovereign nations. Credit-default swaps, or CDS, are insurance-like contracts designed to pay off when creditors aren’t paid back.
The issue arises because Greece used so-called collective-action clauses to force a debt exchange on the vast bulk of its bondholders. It gave a package of new securities to its creditors and then tore up the old bonds.

La Banque de Grèce est optimiste
L’accord obtenu sur la restructuration de la dette grecque est “une occasion de changer le climat” économique dans le pays, estime le gouverneur de la Banque de Grèce (BdG) Georges Provopoulos dans un entretien publié aujourd’hui dans l’hebdomadaire To Vima. “Maintenant que l’accord sur le PSI (participation des créanciers privés à la restructuration de la dette, ndlr) s’est achevé d’une façon positive, c’est l’occasion de changer le climat”, a indiqué M. La surveillance du budget mieux encadrée en Grèce-UE
La Grèce a beaucoup amélioré la supervision de sa gestion budgétaire et a éprouvé jusqu’au bout la capacité de résistance de sa population à l’austérité, a déclaré le responsable du groupe de travail de la Commission européenne.

Je sens une évolution. La Grèce a accueilli avec soulagement le deuxième programme d’aide. Il y a une réelle prise de conscience de la nécessité des changements mais aussi beaucoup d’inquiétudes sur la possibilité de tourner la page de la récession. En tout cas, la légitimité de la mission fait l’objet de moins d’attaques et il est nécessaire de ne pas perdre de temps, en dépit des élections à venir.

ΧΑ: Θετικό κλίμα με το βλέμμα στις πληρωμές των CDS
Με κέρδη 1,66% έκλεισε η πρώτη χρηματιστηριακή εβδομάδα στην μετά – PSI εποχή, ενώ σταθερά χαμηλός ήταν ο τζίρος που κυμάνθηκε στο μέσο επίπεδο των 66 εκατ.ευρώ, σημειώνοντας μικρή άνοδο. Η εικόνα της αγοράς ήταν μικτή, με τις τράπεζες να σημειώνουν εβδομαδιαίες απώλειες 6,8% λόγω των ανοικτών ζητημάτων γύρω από την ανακεφαλαιοποίηση τους και τις οριστικές ζημιές που θα γράψουν λόγω κουρέματος και BlackRock, ενώ στον αντίποδα το ενδιαφέρον μονοπώλησαν οι μετοχές του ΟΤΕ, της ΔΕΗ, και της Coca Cola, που σημείωσαν εβδομαδιαία κέρδη 14,8%, 8,5% και 7,8% αντίστοιχα.
